The golf world has been in much hype recently. The reason is owing big meeting that the Tiger Woods-led Player Directors was set to have with the Chairman of PIF, Yasir Al-Rumayyan. Interestingly, it seems as if the meeting took place hours ago. But, unfortunately, it appears that Jay Monahan has adopted a certain stance for the whole process.
A tweet was shared by NUCLR Golf on their X handle (formerly Twitter), reporting how the commissioner of the men’s circuit sent a statement out to every one of the players on the Tour. Meanwhile, it also divulged how the meeting between the group had taken place, all the while proceeding to hide the decisions taken at the same.

The update on social media mentions how the PGA Tour official’s statement to the members reportedly divulged how they had a “‘constructive’ conversation today with PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan during what the PGA TOUR is calling its “due diligence process” for its selection process for PGA TOUR Enterprises investors.” The for-profit entity had earlier been launched after the circuit entered into a deal with SSG.
Adding on, the tweet also discloses how the 53-year-old reportedly said, “No further comments will be made publicly as negotiations continue.” Well, it seems the merger has not been finalized yet and will get extended until the “due diligence process” mentioned by the commissioner finds an acceptable conclusion.
NUCLR GOLF had earlier reported how the legend of the game, along with the various Player Directors had assembled in the Bahamas for the high-stakes meeting with Al-Rumayyan and the PIF. Moreover, they also went ahead to spot the private jets belonging to the Tour, Woods, and PIF on the grounds in Nassau.

However, initially, the meeting was set to take place in Florida, as per reports. The mellowing out flames of speculations surrounding the LIV Golf-PGA Tour merger was fanned yet again as rumors of the meeting arose amidst the PLAYERS Championship.

The shift from Florida to the Bahamas
A report was made on Saturday stating how the six Player Directors would meet with Al-Rumayyan as early as Monday in Florida at a private residence in Ponte Vedra Beach. Fascinatingly, five of the six members were part of the field at the event, which is deemed ‘The Fifth Major’ of golf.

However, another report was released revealing how the meet-up, which was confirmed on Sunday by Patrick Cantlay, would instead take place in The Bahamas. What’s more, the 48-year-old and the PIF chairman would reportedly do so at the Albany Golf Club, where Tiger Woods hosts the Hero World Challenge every year. This, in turn, went on to elicit a lot of reactions from the community. Regardless, one thing is for certain: the ball is finally rolling in the golf world, with the PGA Tour-LIV Golf merger set to take place sooner or later.
