The drama in the golfing world has reached its pinnacle as the PGA Tour announced the punishments for joining the rival league. Moreover, the Tour published a statement moments after the inaugural event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series began. The statement mentions that all the golfers competing in the LIV Golf Series will face suspension from the PGA Tour.

Moreover, it says they won’t be eligible for any Tour events like the Presidents Cup or others. This also applies to all the PGA Tour co-sanctioned events like Korn Ferry Tour, Champions Tour, and others.

Jay Monahan also believes players competing in the rival league have violated the regulations. Tour believes they did not apply for a release or get in a few players’ cases. Therefore, they believe PGA Tour has the right to suspend these golfers who are playing or will join the LIV Golf in the future.

Additionally, golfers who have already given up their PGA Tour membership will be removed from the FedExCup rankings. The Tour has also assured that they will ensure this will not negatively impact the PGA Tour golfers and jolt their qualifications.

As of now, there are around 17 golfers who have faced suspension from the PGA Tour. Moreover, these include a few who have already given up their PGA Tour membership. Here’s the list of all the golfers suspended or who have given up their membership.

Jay Monahan talks about the legacies of Jack, Arnold, and Tiger Woods

To conclude the statement, Jay talked about the legacies built by golfing greats like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tiger Woods, along with other golfers. They believe these kinds of legacies can’t be bought or sold. Meanwhile, this was an indirect message to all the LIV Golfers who gave up their legacies for money.

Meanwhile, Jay Monahan has said that no golfer will be eligible even through sponsor’s exemption or other eligibilities. While talking about whether these golfers can ever come back on Tour, Monahan did not mention anything conclusive. However, he says they are prepared to deal with these questions.
