LIV Golf has been working hard to address a series of key objectives for its players. And one significant milestone has just been achieved, thanks to Greg Norman’s efforts. The long-fought battle for an official TV deal is finally nearing resolution. Since its inception, LIV Golf has sought a partnership on par with the PGA Tour’s collaboration with Golf Channel, recognizing the importance of a broadcast deal for the league’s growth and visibility. After three seasons of striving, there’s finally a glimmer of hope as LIV Golf edges closer to securing its long-awaited TV partnership, marking a pivotal moment for the league’s future.
Newly appointed CEO Scott O’Neil was recently spotted participating in a pro-am event at The Showdown alongside Fox Sports executives. According to Golfweek, a reported deal with Fox Sports is currently in the works. High-level negotiations are underway, signaling a potential breakthrough for the league as it prepares to enter its fourth season. But that takes the golf community back to the time when Michael Kim made fun of the proposition.
Back in December, NUCLR Golf announced the potential deal. This is when Michael Kim joked and said, “That’s gonna be a hefty check for LIV.” But why would he say that? Well, back in 2023, the league signed a deal with CW and it was a near-zero revenue. The initial season was streamed for free in an even lower revenue deal on YouTube. I mean to think that LIV Golf would get an official Channel like the PGA Tour was impossible. That is because it is not even qualified for OWGR points. But LIV has done the unexpected, and well, Kim’s statement has become a laughing stock.

JCA Golf Report recently took to their official X Account and shared the news, making fun of Michael Kim’s statement. They wrote, “Throwback to December 17, 2024, when PGA Tour player Michael Kim posted that LIV Golf was gonna pay a “hefty check” to Fox to broadcast their events. Today was announced that Fox will indeed broadcast LIV events for US audiences but unlike what Michael Kim said, Fox is actually paying LIV to broadcast their events. LOL.”

LIV Golf might have been criticized for a lot of things. But despite all the challenges, it has continued to triumph, slowly but surely. It has made sure that it sticks by the motto, and 2025 will see yet another expansion.
LIV Golf reaches India to make golf a global game
LIV Golf’s motto is, Golf but louder, and they are doing it pretty well. For the first time, an International Golf event will be hosted in India this year, all thanks to LIV Golf. Fifteen stars from the league and nine winners of the Asian Tour last season will be teeing up at the International Series India presented by DLF from January 30 to February 2. It will surely be the strongest field to have ever existed in India.
