Can Horschel's birdie pledge inspire more athletes to step up for social causes?

This time, Billy Horschel is in the news again for a remarkable gesture. In support of the Pink Pony Campaign by Ralph Lauren, Horschel said that he had pledged to contribute $1,000 for every birdie he scores in October. What is the Pink Pony Campaign?

The Pink Pony Campaign is a Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation welfare project that helps cancer victims fight against the disease. It was founded and has been active since 2000 and recently completed 24 years in its battle against cancer. They not only take part in raising funds to help those in need but also actively spread awareness about the disease. The foundation behind the campaign recently announced a $25 million commitment to establish five Ralph Lauren-named cancer centers.

Apart from the active contributions, the company also indulges in other businesses that help the cause. Their apparel store is one of the sources that helps them generate funds for the campaigns. In one of their recent initiatives, they also announced that 100% of the purchase price from selling some of their newly launched product will be contributed towards the Pink Pony Campaign.

You should know that apart from the latest announcements, the Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation also regularly contributes a portion of its annual revenue to the Pink Pony Fund to keep the initiative relevant. Their continued attempt to grow the campaign helps them reach more people worldwide and increase its impact on human life.

Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation’s website also mentions that Billy Horschel’s contribution is not just a one-time pledge. They officially named the pro as the Golf Ambassador of the Pink Pony Campaign. Billy Horschel shared the same on his X account saying, “The Pink Pony Campaign is Ralph Lauren’s worldwide initiative in the fight against cancer, supporting programs for screening, early diagnosis, treatment, education, and patient navigation.” He also informed us about his pledge in the same post.
