On Friday last week, at the 11th hole at Pebble Beach, an amateur player’s caddie collapsed in the middle of the match. PGA Tour stars, Max McGreevy and Beau Hossler, who were walking up to the hole, witnessed the entire thing firsthand.
Caught up with Max McGreevy, whose partner’s caddie collapsed during last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Said the caddie is stable he believed he’s still sedated. Worked at Monterey Peninsula CC and said he showed no signs of distress. Then, boom. Scary stuff.

Following the event, McGreevy kept track of the ailing caddy and recently provided an update to the worried audience. In a chat with Dan Rapaport of Barstool Sports, he stated that the caddie was “stable.” The pro also stated that he was “still sedated.”
He added that the caddie was working at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club and showed no signs of stress prior to the pro-am event. “Scary stuff,” wrote Rapaport on his Twitter while giving the update. Fortunately, things seem to be getting better for the still-unknown caddie. And maybe we will receive even better news soon.

What happened with the caddie last week?
As soon as the caddie went down on the course, the Tour medics were quick to respond. With immediate intervention, they performed CPR and emergency maneuvers on the caddie. He was soon carried away on a stretcher and taken to Montage Health in an ambulance for further evaluation.
The group was shaken to their core by what they had witnessed. They were allowed to resume play after a break, but certainly, things weren’t the same thereafter. But now with this update, maybe the pros and the amateurs will find themselves at a little more ease.
