With the latest PGA Tour decision, rage has rocked the golf community. Right from the players, spectators, and experts have all had strong opinions over the decision to halt play at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am because of the wind conditions. The golfing community has made no secret of its disapproval of this choice.
Moreover, they have described this choice as ‘horrible’ and have questioned the standards used to decide the suspension of Pebble’s event. Even the fans have expressed their frustration with this decision, and the golfing community is ablaze with opinions. The PGA Tour has a long history of upholding a dedication to the game, but its most recent action has called into question that legacy.
Golf Community angered over the recent decision of the PGA Tour
A recent decision of the PGA Tour to suspend play at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has caused a stir among the golfing community. The official Twitter account of PGA Tour Communications broke the news to the public with a simple tweet reading: “Play has been suspended at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am due to wind conditions.” The tweet went on to specify the exact time of suspensions at the two courses, Monterey Peninsula Country Club at 12:12 p.m. and Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill at 12:20 p.m.
Additionally, the fans’ reaction to the PGA Tour’s decision has been more frustration than disappointment. A popular Twitter account, ‘John Ruths Mustache’, posted, “What a trainwreck. Shut it down.” This tweet, along with others, highlights that fans prefer LIV Golf to the PGA Tour because the latter cancels match too frequently. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the PGA Tour has canceled matches due to windy conditions. Some fans have pointed out that the courses were in good shape and suitable for playing.

The reason given by the tour for the cancellation has not gone over well with its fans. Fans have pointed out that the wind was one of the major reasons why they used to watch Pebble’s matches. One of the accounts even questioned if the wind was a reason for cancellation and what they would do in harsher situations. The angered fans even went on to term the event a “joke event.”
