Paige Spiranac's humor wins fans over—Is she the most relatable figure in golf today?

Frustration is common on the course. Even more so when it is an important event like the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Well, surprisingly enough, Sam Burns didn’t disappoint in failing to meet the expectations. His anger on the 9th hole got the best of him, and the fans, in turn, offered a piece of their minds for the same, a stark contrast to what happened with Paige Spiranac.

The golfing diva shared a tweet on her official X handle. Spiranac did so while posting a video of the PGA Tour pro breaking his golf driver on the course while commenting how she’s “always one snap hook away from doing this lol.” Guess the ravishing American swinging too far into the right isn’t a problem with her fans.

The golfer didn’t have the best of days on the greens at TPC Southwind. As he teed off on the par-9th hole, the athlete threw his driver down on the floor breaking it. Left in two halves, he wasn’t able to drive the ball in the subsequent holes properly. Couple that with the recent outburst and the fans didn’t like his attitude one bit. But they weren’t as harsh at Spiranac, whose admirers couldn’t help but respond positively to her admission.

Paige Spiranac’s confession sends fans into a frenzy

A couple of fans had pointed out how “Some anger management couldn’t hurt” when Burns threw his club down at the tee box. However, it wasn’t the case when the social media influencer admitted how she would have done the same had she swung too far to the right with her club. Many took to express their belief and support in the 31-year-old golfer as they responded, “I believe in u, Paige,” and “You? No way.”

The 28-year-old professional teed off at the 1st hole alongside the likes of Denny McCarthy and Hideki Matsuyama at 12:46 PM EDT. And by the time he reached the par-4, 9th, the athlete had carded four birdies as well as two bogeys. The frustration must have crept up to Burns as he threw the driver. Regardless, one could only point out how “These guys are getting ridiculous. I literally would not be invited back to my Sunday foursome if I did something like this.” However, when it came to Spiranac, another fan complimented her and said, “It looks spectacular though when you do it!”

Have an interesting take?

Back when the PGA Tour pro threw the club and showcased his temper tantrum, a fan had taken a jab at the golfer and mentioned how “He has no ability and has such a bad temper,” while shaming him. But when Spiranac pointed out how relatable it was, many took to her side and understood the reaction that came from the American professional. A couple of them commented, “Ouch- can relate lol,” and “Shit I think it’s a bad round if I don’t do that at least once.”

The reaction Sam Burns showcased on the course did leave many unimpressed. But it wasn’t the case for Paige Spiranac. It’s as if she completely understood the male golfer’s feelings. What do you think? Do you also feel the reaction was warranted?
