You might think that 15x major winner is done, but not him, and not one of his friends, Padraig Harrington.

According to Padraig Harrington, a six-time PGA Tour winner and longtime friend, Woods may be more affected by these setbacks than he lets on. He recently had a private exchange with Woods and found out that the latter is looking forward to joining the senior tour. 

“I met Tiger recently and he said he was looking forward to coming out onto the Champions Tour. So he has an intention of playing. I think his words were, ‘I can’t wait to beat you out on the Champions Tour or something like that’.” Harrington revealed to Today’s Golfer. The Irish golfer elaborated on Woods’s lighthearted jab and said, “He doesn’t want me to have it all my own way, let’s put it like that! I’m looking forward to the challenge.” 

At 52, Padraig Harrington has found a new lease on life as a PGA Tour champion. Since joining the senior circuit, he has dominated the competition, securing an impressive eight titles. His success has made him a force to be reckoned with, and it’s clear that Woods has taken notice.

In fact, the 84-time PGA Tour champion and those close to him have hinted at this move before, suggesting that Woods has been considering a transition to the Champions Tour for some time now.

Tiger Woods’s desire to compete hasn’t slumped yet

Tiger Woods is still roaring with determination, firing back at Colin Montgomerie’s suggestion that he should retire. The 15x major winner dismissed retirement talk, stating, “I’ll play as long as I can play, and I feel like I can still win events.” Golf legend Jack Nicklaus has given Woods a nod of approval, predicting that he will dominate the senior tour.

In an interview with Golf Central earlier this year, he said, “I think Tiger will play the senior tour. He’ll be able to get in a cart, and he’ll absolutely kill everybody.” Nicklaus’s comments echo the sentiments of Woods’s former caddie, Joe LaCava, who hinted that Woods plans to test the waters on the senior tour.

As December 30, 2025, approaches, marking Woods’s eligibility for the Champions Tour, the golf world is bracing for impact. As he approaches this new chapter in his career, it’s clear that he remains committed to his craft and is ready to take on the best in the senior circuit.
