Wyndham Clark is on fire! The hype in the golfing world is almost at its peak owing to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am that is currently reaching its final stages. Well, surprisingly, during the third round of play, Clark was able to come out on top among all the golfers in the powerful field with a scintillating display of golf, all the while breaking the course record for the tournament.

The golfer registered a 12-under 60 during the Saturday round of the second signature event of the 2024 PGA Tour calendar, totaling a score of 17-under over the three days. This helped him break the course record of 62 at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, which was earlier achieved by the likes of Matthias Schwab in 2022, Patrick Cantlay in 2021, David Duval in 1997, and Tom Kite in 1983.

Wyndham Clark creates history at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The current world in the sport of golf sure has a lot of talent brimming to the top. Yesterday it was Joaquin Niemann at LIV Golf Mayakoba, and today it is Clark at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Yesterday, it was a 12-under 59; today, it is a 12-under 60. But both managed to card their career-low score along with the course record at their respective golf courses.

Nevertheless, the 30-year-old PGA Tour Pro was able to hit the same by scoring a total of nine birdies, five of which came in the back nine, to reach the record figures. Moreover, he was also able to card two eagles at the 2nd and 6th holes, all the while scoring a bogey as well at the 12th. If he had managed a par score at the same time instead of a bogey, then the athlete would have been the first player to secure a 59 in Pebble Beach history.

It appears a golfer has only emerged victorious once on the course when they went ahead to hit the course record for the tournament. Schwab and Cantlay had achieved the feat at the grounds during the previous editions of the tourney in 2022 and 2021, where Tom Hoge and Daniel Berger won the event, respectively. Meanwhile, Duval managed the same back in 1997 while losing to Mark O’Meara. However, Kite hit the figures back in 1983, all the while emerging victorious at the event when it was dubbed the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am.
