The first full-field signature event of the calendar year comes in its full glory. Nine of the Top 10 in OWGR—Jon Rahm being the obvious absentee—will tee up at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this year. The event, which has long suffered because of snubs from the Tour Pros, has truly been ‘elevated’ to a grand affair because of the $20 million purse size and weight given to it.
Unlike the 54-hole cut last year, this time amateurs have to hang up their clubs after the 36 holes. Only the pros will play against each other for the $3.6 million winner’s payout. After the first rounds at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hills, the third and fourth rounds will exclusively move to the former. Before the event kicks off on February 1, here are the pairings you should watch out for.
Keegan Bradley and Tom Brady

A perfect match doesn’t sum up the pairing. Bradley, a lifelong New England Patriots fan, will be ecstatic to have Tom Brady on his side. The PGAT Pro even got an invitation to visit the Patriots game back in 2011, which also offered him a chance to encounter the peak Brady up close. We won’t spoil it for you; here is what Bradley said of that encounter.
"He had this look I'll never forget the rest of my life.”

The NFL quarterback teed up against, the lifelong New Englander on a holiday trip nine years ago. The result? A 6–5 victory for the NFL legend. Notably, Brady has experience playing at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as well, having teed up at the cliffside course in 2014.
Aaron Rodgers and Beau Hossler
Hossler is tied with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The 40-year-old was in Vegas recently, but not at your usual destination. Rodgers was practicing golf on the Tom Fazio-designed Shadow Creek Golf Course. Even though he is recovering from surgery, the veteran quarterback should be supercharged after making a hole-in-one just days ago. Last year, Rodgers partnered with Ben Silverman to win the Pro-Am part of the event, carding 26-under 189. Hossler, on the other hand, is coming off of a T6 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Keith Mitchell and Josh Allen
For the third straight time, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is paired up with Keith Mitchell. The duo last year notched a runner-up finish. “Golf is something I love doing. You’re not going to find a bigger Keith Mitchell fan than me,” the 27-year-old said last year. Mitchell, though, might have a score to settle after losing money on a card bet. “He’s won a couple (of) hundred dollars off me on card tricks that I didn’t believe he could do it and he did it,” said the PGA Tour Pro to Spectrum News last year.
Emiliano Grillo and Pau Gasol
Pau Gasol is 43 and two and a half years removed from professional sports. But at 7 feet 1, the Spaniard towered over the others at Pebble Beach when he teed up last season with Mark Hubbard. At 18 under 197, Gasol was ninth on the 156-man field. His Argentine partner, Grillo, a two-time winner on the Tour, is coming off a T20 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Maverick McNealy and Condoleezza Rice
This is not your usual pairing. McNealy will pair up with former Secretary of State Rice, an avid golfer. Both of them are also Stanford alums. Rice is, in fact, the first female member of Augusta National, having been inducted in 2012. McNealy is coming to Pebble Beach Golf Course after a T37 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Aside from the aforementioned pairings, Jordan
Spieth, who won at Pebble Beach in 2017, will pair up with Chris Kempczinski, CEO of McDonald’s. On the other hand, Steve Young, the 49ers quarterback, will join forces with Matt Kuchar. AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am kicks off on February 1, and promises four days filled with enthrallment!ADVERTISEMENT
