Max Homa dishes out a hilarious confession! The golfer, just a while back, shared a funny revelation as to what he would do if bad form hit him during ‘The Match’ that is set to hit the golfing world soon. The much-anticipated event would see him square off against the likes of Lexi Thompson, Rory McIlroy, and Rose Zhang, this year.
During the interview with SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, the current defending champion of the Farmers Insurance Open mentioned how he’d “have a chance to talk some trash… and at least show some value in that department” if he does not play well in the event. But even so, he did that after dishing out a list of compliments for the “three superstars”.

Max Homa to tee it off at ‘The Match’ with golf stars
For the first time, the special event by Capital One would witness two female golfers tee it up alongside PGA Tour professionals. The 12-hole skins match will be held at the Park Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida on the 26th of February. Moreover, it would be the second of its kind to be held under the lights, the first of which saw Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas emerge victorious against Tiger Woods and McIlroy back in December 2022.
“I’m really excited,” – says an elated Max Homa when asked about the upcoming golf match with three big stars of the golfing world. Although the 33-year-old revealed his witty plans to tackle the trio, in the talk with Jason Sobel, Chantel McCabe, and Robert Damron, he couldn’t help but commend the three golfers as well.

Commenting on Thompson’s game, he said, “She’s phenomenal, she’s been phenomenal since she’s like eleven or twelve,” while alluding to the time the 28-year-old played at the U.S. Open. Back in 2007, the young golfer had qualified for the major. During the same, she shot 86-82 while being unable to make the cut.
Adding on, the PGA Tour pro divulged how he “personally got to meet Rose Zhang pretty recently.” Moreover, he conveyed how his caddie, Joe Greiner, is a “self-proclaimed ‘Rose Bud'” all the while dubbing him as a “huge fan” of the “incredible” athlete. Continuing with his response, Homa then complimented the Northern Irishman as well by pointing out how he is “pretty good at golf.”

Interestingly, the upcoming mixed event would spot the four athletes competing against each other individually, unlike the previous times when it followed a team format. Nevertheless, it seems the golf world is set for an exciting and thrilling matchup between the professionals from the PGA Tour and the LPGA circuit.
