The PGA Tour pro, Jordan Spieth, is likely to have a new profession. Spieth expressed his interest in being a movie star in a conversation with Kay Adams, the host of the latest episode of ‘Up & Adams’ on FanDuel TV and YouTube. With the confirmation announcement of the upcoming sequel to a viral movie, Happy Gilmore, Spieth talked about how he is excited to play a part in this project, no matter how big or small (if offered).

Will Spieth accept Sandler’s offer?

When asked how the 30-year-old golfer would react if Sandler gave him a call and offered him a prominent role—not a cameo but a real part—in the sequel to Happy Gilmore, Spieth replied, “I think everybody who plays professional golf is looking for a shoutout to potentially be in it.” The pro also agreed that he was ready to dedicate his time to the entertainment field and even learn the lines to play the part.

However, Spieth said it would only be possible for him to join the script if the movie was going to film between September and January. With all the majors being held and the Tour schedule being lighter, Spieth laid out the months he’d “for sure love to” devote to the movie. The PGA Tour pro also added that he is an admirer of Adam Sandler; he never met him in person, but he loves all his movies.

However, with a chuckle, he mentioned being a part of such a beautiful movie as Happy Gilmore 2 would be a wonderful experience and said, “now you finally have one of these movies being remade it would be pretty awesome to have any part had no matter how small.”

It seems like the golfer is a big fan of the inspiring movie too. The first part of Happy Gilmore showcased the acting skills of former No. 1 golfer Christopher McDonald. The character of Shooter McGavin, played by the golf star, became quite popular among fans. However, Spieth also shared that there are other golfers too who face the camera in movies and shows.

Who are the other golfers who have made their way to TV series and movies?

Apart from Happy Gilmore, McDonald’s now has a long career with big-screen projects. More of his acting skills were featured in many movies and shows; however, he is known for Thelma and Louise (1991), Quiz Show (1995), and a TV series called Harry’s Law (2002–2012).

Along with Christopher McDonald, the 45-time PGA Tour winner Phil Mickelson has been in a few movies and shows as well. Mickelson had a cameo role in Entourage, which was a TV series that came out in 2008. Before that, he also appeared in a different series such as Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993) and Tin Cup (1996).
