Former world no.1 Jordan Spieth has struggled with consistency. This continued as he missed the cut at the 2022 Masters Tournament. Hence, the golf world thinks that it is time for the golfer to reanalyze his golf techniques.

Dan Rapaport of Golf Digest brought up Spieth’s form through his Twitter as he failed to make the cut for the third time in his last 8 starts.
Spieth missing the Masters cut for first time feels like a low point. He was awful in ‘20, but he teased us last summer with that run and has regressed since. He’s still deeeeep in the swing mechanics game all these years later, still unable to swing it how he used to. Troubling.

Spieth was confident he would win the first major of the year since he had already won it once. He had a chance to make the cut until the 12th hole in round 2. His tee shot at Golden Bell went straight into the water. Furthermore, when he tried hitting the ball after taking the drop shot, the ball rolled down into the water once more.
His double-bogey at the 18th hole didn’t help matters, as he didn’t progress to Day 3.

Spieth hasn’t won a tournament since the 2021 Valero Texas Championship. His 2021 victory was his first win in about four years, as his last win before that was in 2017.
Apart from Spieth, many popular golfers also failed to make the cut at the 2022 Masters. 2020 Olympic gold medalist Xander Schauffele, 4-time major winner Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau are some of the others who couldn’t move on to Day 3.
Fans’ reaction to Jordan Spieth’s swing mechanics
As followers of his game, many had the same opinion as Rapaport as they thought Spieth’s swings were not ideal.
He destroyed a wonderful, functional swing. Rory did the same & experts were right – once he bulked up, his touch was gone. Not sure what Rickie did. Only Tiger could re-invent himself & have similar success

He’s incredibly loyal to his team and totally accountable for his performances. Incredibly high character guy. However, time to reshuffle the deck. If I were Jordan I’d be reaching out to Butch Harmon for a reset.

His swing looks completely different now.. sometimes it looks like he’s playing golf swing & not golf.

Very sad to watch. Such a great player, now so obviously caught up in playing golf swing instead of just golf—just watching that weird practice backswing makes me cringe. One wonders whether he’ll ever get it back. But the first step might be to get away from his “teacher”.

So symbolic of golf in general for all players. Some stretches you swing freely & confident w/ good results. Other times it’s overthinking, swing changes, putting slumps. The ebbs & flows keep us frustrated, yet always coming back to chase the rounds where it all comes together.

Although many agreed his swings were making him lose the tournaments, others had different opinions. They had thought that it was his putting that needs an upgrade.
Actually didn't play that bad. He couldn't putt this week. His putter is killing him week in and week out. He was in the hunt until he dunked three balls in two holes. And that looked like he was trying to make a crazy bogey rather than taking his medicine.

He get he is “deep in swing mechanics” but he is not putting well and that is bleeding into the r rest of his game. I’ve been wrong before but that is my opinion.

To me it seems like when he was winning he never missed a putt. Now he can’t make a putt. Putting was saving his bacon before and now it’s gone.

Actually his swing isn’t the problem… losing almost half a stroke to the field putting this season. Gaining on the field tee to green. pic.twitter.com/8RLsH6R6Nh

His swing has nothing to do with him not playing this weekend. He’s horrendous from inside 5’ right now. Would be in contention had he holed a few more short putts.

Swings or putts, whatever may be the reason, Spieth couldn’t advance to the Masters Tournament’s second half. Although many players like him suffered, those that advanced didn’t disappoint their fans.
The 2022 Masters Tournament leaders after two rounds
