It has only been three events the PGA Tour has conducted since 2023 began, and the former world no. 1 Jon Rahm has won two of them. Following his victory at the Tournament of Champions, the Spaniard marked his second win at The American Express after having a neck-to-neck competition with the rookie Davis Thompson. And he won it by partnering with one of the top golf equipment manufacturers, Callaway, who helped him set up the bag with fitting clubs and balls.

Rahm might be disappointed that winning at the La Quinta-based golf course wouldn’t help him regain his world no. 1 position. However, that didn’t let it discourage him from winning the event as he fought hard against the Tour rookie who impressed the golf world with his continuous eagles and birdies from Day- 1. And one of the most important factors that led him to be victorious was his Callaway bag and the set of equipment in it.

As for his putter, the golfer chose Odyssey White Hot OG Rossie S. Notably, like his clubs, Rahm went with Callaway as his ball choice as well. He used Chrome Soft X balls and Golf Pride MCC for his grips. Since the set of equipment brought him victory at the year-opening PGA Tour event, Rahm played at La Quinta with the same bag.

Jon Rahm had to fight hard to win at La Quinta

Jon Rahm won against rookie Thompson with a 1-shot lead. Although he found victory in the end, it was never an easy path for the 1-time major champion. Until the last round, Thompson and Rahm fought hard to maintain their leads.

Rahm had trouble getting his second win of the year. However, he did win two events in three consecutive weeks, and some of its credits go to his Callaway bag.
