There had been a lot of speculation surrounding the 11X PGA Tour pro in the golfing world. And, nothing has been confirmed till now. However, sources have once again reported how Rahm might sign a deal with the PIF-funded league for a huge amount of money and added benefits.

The golfer was said to have been in talks with the alternate tour for a supposed agreement of $600 million, according to rumors. However, it seems as if the professional might agree to join the Middle Eastern circuit for a deal worth $550 million in a shocking move, as per reports.

One can dub this as nothing short of “an earth shattering move” since the current world No.3 on the Official World Golf Rankings would possibly join a league that has received immense backlash since its inception and continues to do so. Nevertheless, his move would, undoubtedly, bring many changes to the sport of golf, and is very ” likely to alter the landscape of the professional game.”

The Spaniard’s signing with LIV Golf comes with it a chance to change the whole terrain of the Saudi-backed League. Moreover, as per reports, the pro is unsatisfied with the current system and prefers more control over the team, all the while increasing his rapport with the squad. Rahm’s addition to the league alone would cause waves in the community.

However, if the 2X major champ makes the jump, he would be joining a circuit that would not be awarded OWGR points. Besides, his current position on the world rankings would, most likely, sink to lower numbers as was the case with golfers such as Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson. Thus, one can hope that the Spanish professional’s decision would lead to much change in the whole golfing realm, including the current dynamics of LIV Golf and OWGR.
