3&2! Quite an impressive score if you’re on the winning side, to be honest. More so, if you have raked in the same without carding any bogeys throughout the day. But Scottie Scheffler, as always, seems to be the calm and composed type, even after clinching such a dominating win. So much so that he was spotted hilariously recounting his jail time days following the round. Yes, it’s exactly what you’re thinking about; his arrest in Valhalla.
The American athlete was spotted on the practice range working on his shots when the topic of jail came up. “Jail is kinda boring, to be honest with you,” said the golfer comically as he added, “I needed something to do.” Just then, a reporter asked him if it was just him and the jail cell. His reply? “Yeah, I was alone.” But the main revelation came just a couple of seconds later when he recalled an instance inside the cell that elicited laughter from those hearing it; “One of the guys in the jail, the first guy, the police officer who knew who I was, literally walked up in disbelief, ‘What the heck did you do?'”

The golfer had, back in May, attempted to cross near the scene of a deadly crash that claimed the life of a person. However, Scheffler was stopped by the cops following which he was slapped with many charges. These included Second-degree assault of a police officer (Felony), Third-degree criminal mischief (Misdemeanor), reckless driving (Violation), and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic (Misdemeanor).

The Louisville Metro Police Department ultimately dropped the four charges. Was that all? Not even close, for the detective that arrested him, Bryan Gillis, also issued a statement expressing his gratitude towards the golfer for the way he carried himself through the investigation. “Instead of giving a negative public reaction, he chose to speak with dignity, humility, and respect,” wrote the officer, “My family and I appreciate that.”
Well, all’s well that ends well. And now, Scottie Scheffler seems to be in the prime of his career with seven wins on Tour this season, alongside a scintillating gold medal finish at the Olympics. What’s more, he also seems to be in remarkable form at the ongoing Presidents Cup as well. Any doubts? Take a look at the scorecard!

The world No. 1 was paired up with Russell Henley for the Thursday Fourball match against Sungjae Im and Tom Kim. The pair, together, carded a total of seven birdies, as opposed to the South Korean duo who dished out just four. The American golfers, meanwhile, took to dominate their rivals by finishing the 16th hole with 3 points and conceding the last two after victory was ensured.
Impressive, isn’t it? Anyone would agree, especially after coming to know that their win helped America dominate the International team 5-0 on Thursday. As a result, the two golfers, including Scheffler and Henley, will be pairing up once again to tee off against the likes of Si Woo Kim and Byeong Hun An on the Friday Foursomes. Surely, an exciting game awaits the community!
