Green shared with the NLU Podcast his side of the story of how he earned this “bad boy” image. On being asked about his reputation on the tour, he said he was not completely aware of what he had done to earn such a title. He elaborated that he only wanted to be honest with his answers: ‘’Yes, you know, I get asked a question. I gave you an answer. You know, to me, I wasn’t being controversial.’’ He added that while he was simply trying to reply to the questions asked, he was holding himself back every time to ensure that his statements were not being manipulated.

He explained how he got crucified for his choice of words that didn’t mean any harm; the media molded his words, and boom! He is all popular as a rebel and has entered the realm of controversies. He also pointed out how the tour wanted professional golfers to act in a certain way, and when he denied being a part of that robot army, he faced consequences.

Ken Green on PGA Tour: the tour is very controlling !!

Ken Green shed light on how the PGA Tour demanded to be like a certain character, like a robot, in his words, And, you know, the tours, is very controlling in the sense that they basically want many robots out there.” He also explained that sports psychologists are very much involved in the game these days; hence, the golfers hardly answer with complete honesty and lack the emotions to face it as well.

Unfortunately, the golfers, who are the most honest people on the planet, started to react in an artificial way that erupted truthfulness. According to Green, the tour promotes acting in a particular way while answering the questions. In contrast to the nature of the game and the players involved, he openly said, “ I’m going to tell you that the tour has been run by three of the most dishonest people on planet Earth started with Dean beaming, Tim Fincham and now Jay Monahan and it’s the complete opposite of who the golfers are.”
