The PGA Tour’s 2024 Regular season is over. But no worries, for there’s more action to come. A tournament in Mexico, a tournament in Napa, and many more. In total, nine events are set to tee off in grand fashion as the second part of this year’s calendar starts. Cue the entry of the 2024 PGA Tour FedEx Cup Fall season.
Till 2022, the tournaments that followed the TOUR Championship counted towards the next season’s points total. 2023, however, came with it, the calendar-based schedule. As a result, what awaited the winners of the events in the Fall season were Tour cards, or in other words, eligibility to play on the 2025 events.

The golfers outside the top 50 of the FedEx Cup standings, as per the PGA Tour, will look to clinch a win on the circuit during the Fall season. Why, you ask? Well, the champions will receive a two-year exemption on the circuit alongside 500 FedEx Cup points, OWGR points, a spot in the field for THE PLAYERS Championship, the Sentry, and the major events.
That’s not all. The Fall season also allows the golfers to compete with each other for a spot inside the top 125 on the FedEx standings. And with it, comes full exempt status into the full-field events and a spot in the event at TPC Sawgrass. The golfers from T51 and above, after the Playoffs, will start the Procore Championship with all the points they raked in till the St. Jude Championship.
The golfers who find themselves inside the top 51-60, after the end of the Fall season, will enjoy a spot on the two signature events following the Sentry, namely the 2025 Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational. Meanwhile, the athletes who are currently placed between 51 and 70, including Tom Kim, have already gained top-125 eligibility and Tour status, as a result of their performance till now. Their only aim in the upcoming events will be to clinch a spot for the two designated events.
Although those beyond the 71st position can also compete to claim a spot in the limited-field tournament next season, their focus will be on finishing inside the top 125 by the end of the fall. The professionals will have to be sure in doing so since those that rank outside 125 (No. 126 & above) will only be able to enjoy conditional status on the Jay Monahan-led circuit! But they can improve or regain their status through the Q-school presented by Korn Ferry Tour.
