The PGA Tour’s final stop in Texas is finally off to an exciting start! Interestingly, many in the field would be aiming to claim the trophy and clinch the final chance at playing in the upcoming Masters Tournament. However, for Jordan Spieth, it’s different. How? Well, for him, it’s a place where he needs to prove himself since he has not been having the best of times on the course. And what better way to prove it than to hit an ace at the Valero Texas Open?

The golfer went ahead to score a hole-in-one during his day’s play at TPC San Antonio. However, what the professional didn’t expect was for the community to have a mixed reaction, bordering on awe, after hitting the impressive shot amid many not-so-impressive holes.

Just hours ago, the 30-year-old was able to score an ace on the par-3, 16th hole at TPC San Antonio. He did the same from a distance of 199 yards. That’s not all. surprisingly, the feat, which he was able to dish out using a 7-iron, marks his fourth ace on the men’s circuit, the last of which came in the third round of the 2021 edition of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Fascinatingly, three years ago, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he managed to finish at T4 with a score of 6-under 282, a finish which he was able to rake in owing to his third-round score of 68 (-4), which included the ace. Meanwhile, this time around, it appears the American pro couldn’t pull off the same.

Coming back to the present, Jordan Spieth managed to finish the first round of the Valero Texas Open with a score of 1-over par 73. Unfortunately, aside from the ace-cum-eagle on the par 16th, he carded the ace amidst a total of 5 bogeys, one double bogey, and four birdies. Well, naturally, the fans in the community did not seem to want to sit still after the crazy shot.

Spieth’s ace throws the internet into a fervor

Many took to respond to the hole-in-one feat that the golfer managed to achieve amidst a day filled with a sub-par performance. Although Jordan Spieth did finish the rest two holes with a birdie and a par, the holes before the iconic hole-in-one weren’t a beautiful sight to see. Regardless, his fans did not shy away from expressing their support for the ace and the four birdies he hit as one person mentioned, “He’s exhausting and I love him,” Others even went ahead to declare that there’s “Literally no one better.” Funnily enough, the supporting responses came under a post that commented “LOL” while sharing a snap of the scorecard when he was at T97 after the ace. That’s not all, another fan came forward to point out how it was “Just the most random ace ever.”

Meanwhile, until now, Spieth hasn’t had the best of runs in 2024. Aside from a T3 at the Sentry and a T6 at the WM Phoenix Open, he has not been able to dish out his best in the current season of the men’s circuit. Moreover, he missed the cut at the PLAYERS Championship and the Valspar Championship after finishing T30 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Consequently, an enthusiast couldn’t help but take a jab at the golfer as well as go crazy because of the ace by commenting, “Hell yea!! Maybe he makes the cut now at the roast beef open.” Another follower also followed while mentioning how “Even a broken clock is right twice a day.”
