The 2024 Genesis Invitational has started with a bang! All eyes were on the host, Tiger Woods, as he returned to the greens. The 48-year-old unfortunately had a lackluster performance. Patrick Cantlay, on the other hand, emerged on top after the first round. Amidst all this, it was Charley Hoffman who went viral on the internet!
Hoffman sits in a tied fifteenth spot alongside Si Woo Kim and many others. But why has the American golfer gone viral despite missing out on the top 10? Is it because he got his plea rejected to compete and then decided to play his way into the tournament? Well, no! The reason for that is his surprising ‘scratching’ actions on the greens, which left the netizens bewildered.

The post garnered a lot of attention on social media and went viral. It had a plethora of reactions from the golf fans, leaving many shocked and confused!

Another fan thought Hoffman was doing it on purpose to determine the location of the kickpoint during the golf swing. The fan innocently asked if this method helped in stiffening the kick point or not.
Is that to stiffened the kick point?
