Jordan Spieth has been sporting his ‘come-and-go’ wrist injury for some time now. As a byproduct of the ulnar nerve damage he suffered at the 2023 PGA Championship, his ECU tendon ended up dislocated resulting in it ‘popping out’ at times. Unfortunately, he experienced the same at the ongoing PGA Tour event, the Wells Fargo Championship, and the fans were quick to dish out their verdict regarding the same.
The golfer was going about his second round of play at the day at the Quail Hollow Club at the sixth signature event on the 2024 calendar on the men’s circuit. However, as soon as he drove the ball from the tee on the 12th hole, he turned to the person standing beside him and exclaimed, “[It] hurt really bad.” Well, Spieth’s tendon seemed to have come back out, which caused him much pain and discomfort.

The American professional is currently tied for 20th with five other professionals including the likes of Cameron Young, Will Zalatoris, Keegan Bradley, and Patrick Rodgers. He managed to register scores of 69-71 at the 7558-yard, par-71 course in North Carolina with a total of six birdies, four bogeys, a double bogey, and an eagle, the last of which came at the par-5 7th on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the wrist injury that happened yet again seems to be a ‘recurring’ misfortune. Sadly, he was close to a WD at the RBC Heritage that took place at Harbour Town Golf Links in April, owing to a similar situation at Hole 14.
“It’s a come-and-go thing,” confessed Spieth. Elaborating on, the athlete also mentioned how he would be down for just a day when it happens while being able to golf the next day; “I could oddly enough twist in the wrong way getting off the ground, and I couldn’t play tomorrow. But I could play the next day.”
It remains a question whether he will tee up on Saturday at the Wells Fargo Championship. But, the followers online appear to have already decided his fate.
Is Jordan Spieth’s career grand slam in jeopardy?
The American has a total of three major victories in his 12-year-long professional career. A win at the Masters as well as the U.S. Open in 2015 followed by an Open Championship triumph in 2017. Consequently, he is close to a Career Grand Slam with a win at the PGA Championship, the event that is set to happen next week at Valhalla Golf Course. But, many in the community do not feel Jordan Spieth will be able to clinch the same as they swiftly went ahead to pass out their judgment regarding the golfer’s future as soon as the injury occurred at the Wells Fargo Championship; “THE UNIVERSE IS DOING EVERYTHING IT CAN TO STOP THE SLAM! SAD!” and “Damn it! No slam this year!”
