It is not a secret that golfers often lose control over their emotions after hitting a bad shot. Throwing or breaking their clubs to using expletives are some of the ways they usually use to show off their rage. World No. 2 Jon Rahm had a similar experience; however, his rage could have hurt someone this time!
“Oh my god, an amazing line there, Jon!” Rahm sounded displeased with his approach shot on par-5 of the 11th at the Memorial Tournament. As many have done in the past, the Spanish golfer threw away his wedge in rage.

Although the golfer didn’t intend to, the club nearly hit the woman holding the microphone.

Rahm could be seen apologizing to the woman even before the club fell on her. Since it didn’t hit her, the woman also sounded nonchalant as she laughed it off with an “It’s alright.”
Notably, this isn’t the first time the golfer has shown his rage during a tournament. “Truthfully, I have been doing a lot of work when it comes to, you know, how I express my passion,” Rahm has said about his rage. He had acknowledged his emotional swing in an interview with ‘ThePostGame.’
How did the golf fans react to the incident?
It was not the first time the golfer had shown his rage on the course. Hence, many fans thought it was time the PGA Tour officials took disciplinary actions against him or those who their clubs during a tournament. On top of that, the action nearly hurt a person, and the golf world expressed their rage through comments.
DQ him, before the end of the round

I thought club throwing was a penalty?

I don’t know how he hasn’t been suspended yet. He acts like a petulant child every week, yelling at cameramen, flinging clubs and generally acting like a POS
— Alec Brzezinski (@BrzezinskiAlec) June 4, 2022
Ridiculous since he's still on the green. Make a putt or lag one close, then GTFO and birdie the next one.

If the club he threw had white out on the face would the PGA have DQ’ed him?

This lady should press charges. If I did this at my local course, I would get kicked out and have a meeting with the sheriff. When is the @PGATOUR going to stand up against this type of behavior? It’s ruining the game!!
— Larry “Big P” Peterson (@BigPtweets) June 3, 2022
I agree it is an assault. Take action. Should not be allowed
— Robert Schwamberger (@RobertSchwambe1) June 4, 2022
There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior and it should not be tolerated.
— Gerry MacDonald (@GBMacD4466) June 4, 2022
Many thought at least a fee should be remitted from the golfer for his actions.
I hope he got fined a large amount of money.

Once Again he sho be fined !

However, some justified his actions as it didn’t hit the woman, and she sounded okay after the incident.
So confused why people have a problem with this. Dude is just super passionnate and wants to do well. Also we got a super wholesome laugh and reactions from him apologizing after getting a little too close to the sound lady. Good stuff all round
— Ell Tzee Dub (@lieutenantDUB21) June 3, 2022
It wasn’t even close!
— USA_Golf_9 (@USA_Golf_9) June 4, 2022
Most golf fans thought Rahm should get a penalty for throwing his club at a person. Meanwhile, some thought it shouldn’t be news considering the club didn’t even hit the woman.
