Scottie Scheffler is many things. A family man, a humble and simple person, and most of all, a great golfer. But he’s also rich. VERY rich, and winning 7 tournaments and a gold medal in a year will surely do that to your bank account. Mind you, Scheffler has earned a whopping $62,228,357 in 2024. Thanks to the $8 million Comcast bonus and $25 million FedEx bonus. Now with this much money, you’d think that Scheffler spends it lavishly, but does he?
He mostly does not. He still drives the Yukon his father gifted him in 2012, and the reason he gives for it is that it gets him places, and he doesn’t drive it often since he is mostly on the road. But how does he travel inter- and intra-country for his hectic PGA Tour schedule? By his private jet, or does the jet chartering company help him?

Scheffler’s humility and minimalism are just as famous as his game. As of now, he does not own a private jet, but that does not mean that he flies commercial. With grueling schedules and performance pressure, golfers must stay well-rested and ready for action. Scheffler is the same as he travels by charter planes, probably using the services of NetJets, the PGA Tour’s official private jet provider.
In an exclusive reveal by Amalfi Jets on their website, it was mentioned that during the 2024 US Open, Scheffler’s aircraft of choice was the Gulfstream G650 as usual. This aircraft is claimed to be “one of the most advanced and luxurious business jets available,” and it has a spacious cabin that offers customizable seating arrangements, allowing the world #1 to work, relax, and sleep comfortably during his travels.
The 2x Masters winner is a man of simplicity, as he has showcased it many times. Even during the Tour Championship, he was seen wearing wired headphones, a tech accessory you don’t see that often in today’s times. We can now safely assume that Scheffler chooses substance over style. And it is also clear that he splurges on chartering planes.
With him already reaching the top, one can only assume that Scheffler might need to consider purchasing a jet like his fellow golfers for more convenience.

Golfers who own a private jet
It seems obvious that the world’s richest golfer Tiger Woods owns a plane. He bought a Gulfstream 500, costing around $53 million. Woods’s plane can fly close to 8,000 miles and carry up to 20 people at a time. The 15x major champion’s nemesis, Phil Mickelson purchased a Gulfstream V that can travel 7500 miles. However, he sold his jet and decided to use private air charters instead. Talking about it, he said, “The greatest decision I made after owning a plane for twenty years was selling it and chartering because it has reduced my stress levels exponentially.” On the other hand, Rory McIlroy splashed the cash on a $30 million Bombardier Challenger.

The list doesn’t end there. Jack Nicklaus and Greg “The Shark” Norman are both much more esteemed members of the Fly High Golf Club. Nicklaus, who obtained his pilot license in 1969, has owned jets from Gulfstream, Cessana, Jetstar, and Lears. Whereas, The Shark has owned an impressive 7 different jets.
