It has been only a couple of weeks since Bryson DeChambeau made a comeback after he met with injuries. Although he couldn’t hit bombs yet, his fans were happy to see him back on the course. However, the new update reveals that the golfer is going on a hiatus one more time. 

“He’s going to have surgery on Thursday,” Bobby Peterson said about DeChambeau. Peterson is one of the owners of the Professional Long Drivers Association. DeChambeau had committed to a long drive event set by the Association, from which he withdrew due to the hand surgery. 

“I hate that he’s not going to the event,” Peterson added. “But I hate it more for him.” He further explained that DeChambeau wouldn’t have agreed to the surgery if it wasn’t serious. 

“I know he was trying to avoid it,” he further explained the situation. “But I guess he felt it was something he had to do.” The Association member revealed the news to SI.com/Morning Read. However, none of DeChambeau’s team had responded to the news. 

Nicknamed the Mad Scientist of golf, DeChamebeu is known for his long drives. And he had gone through intense speed training and physical changes to make himself better at golf. 

The speed training is what injured his hand in the place. However, according to DeChambeau, playing table tennis during Saudi International had worsened the injury.

After taking a break from professional golfing since almost the beginning of this year, DeChambeau made a comeback at the World Golf Championship. Furthermore, he played at the Valero Texas Open and the Masters Tournament. However, the golfer couldn’t make it to the final rounds of any of the three championships. 

Doctors recommended Bryson DeChambeau not to make a comeback yet!

In an interview after the practice session at the Masters, DeChambeau revealed that his doctors suggested not to make a comeback yet. However, the golfer chose not to listen to them as he wanted to play at the Augusta National. 

DeChambeau was one of the other prominent players, including Jordan Spieth, Brooks Koepka, and Xander Schauffele, who couldn’t make the cut at the Augusta. Bryson scored an overall score of 12-over par in the first two rounds. 

The golfer has yet to confirm the news of his surgery. However, since the update came from a reliable source, it is sure that his fans would need to wait a little longer to see him in action.
