Jon Rahm recently shared his learnings from his two-year-old toddler. What might a champion player have to learn from a child who can barely function independently? As bizarre as it may sound, there is a lot he is picking up from the kid.

The news comes days after his outburst at the BMW Championship at Olympia Fields, which concluded last week. He has a splendid record, having won four times this season. And now, we will see him in Atlanta, playing his best shots at the Tour Championship.

Rahm and Kelley Cahill, his wife, are parents to two children. Kepa was born in 2021, and their other son, Eneko, came a year after. When Kepa was born, the golfer admitted he might refrain from complaining about a few aches and pains after practice sessions. That’s what watching labor did to him.

Now, the kid is two years old, and his father is drawing on the observations from his everyday routine. In a video shared by the PGA Tour, the Spaniard spoke candidly. And appeared fascinated by what it can teach you about the way of life. “No matter what happens, he’s happy. He does whatever he wants. You tell him not to do something; he moves on to the next thing, and he’s happy. It’s quite incredible to see him. He has no worries, no cares, no stress, no anxiety, no nothing.”

Cementing his thought with a final statement, he continued, “And I feel we should all strive to be more like that. The only thing that matters to him is there in the moment, what he has in front of him, that’s it. And that’s a beautiful way to live.”

Rahm witnesses joy every time he sees this play out, and Kepa is learning with every single day and moment.

Do you think this outlook is pleasant? Rahm certainly believes so. He will be vying for his first Tour Championship title at the East Lake Golf Club. For Rahm, winning this crowing event would culminate the entire season on a winning note. And he certainly wants to know how that feels.

Currently, Jon Rahm is developing another reputation that does not relate to his gameplay, but his temper and reactions. He is approaching the hot-head position that the golf world attaches with PGA Tour veteran Tyrrell Hatton.

A throwback to the Olympia fields

Tyrrell Hatton – the six-time European Tour winner- has become a short-tempered hothead in the golf world. When things take an unexpected turn, Hatton often reacts with swear words or profane gestures, as he did at the Scottish Open earlier this year.

Jon Rahm has also lost his cool on the field. And at the BMW Championship, he must have lost his bearings. Because in the first round, when he mis-hit an 182mph shot, he screamed “F—-K!!! Goddamnit!” and teed off. Still, he did not compromise his game. Rahm finished round 2-under par for the day and headed home in 17th place on the leaderboard. Interestingly, this was not Rahm’s first outburst in the field.

Last year at the Farmers Insurance Open, he also lost his cool. His aggression was high enough because he bashed the tee box continuously with his driver. He also threw his club intensely onto the bag after missing a shot. And the bag fell to the ground. Clearly, Rahm needs to calm down; hopefully, his son’s way of life can help him. What do you think?
