Jack Nicklaus has proved why he is widely considered the greatest golfer of all time! At the age of 82, the golfer made a winning putt at the special Greats of Golf event at the Insperity Invitational, a tournament on the PGA Tour Champions.

The PGA Tour Champions’ official Twitter page posted the video of Nicklaus making the winning putt at the 3M Greats of Golf event. 

In the video, Nicklaus can be seen making the putt on the last hole to let his group win. As soon as he made it, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, and Annika Sorenstam came rushing to congratulate the 82-year-old. 

Greats of Golf is a special tradition held between the Insperity Invitational tournament every year. The 9-hole competition tees off on Saturdays following the tee times of the official event. 

The tradition came into existence in 2012. The Big Three, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Nicklaus, have won it for the first time with a score of 11-under par. 

Furthermore, Nicklaus’ group has won the event three times, including the 2022 tournament, and got tied twice as winners. 

This year, Nicklaus was in a group of four, including the LPGA Tour star player Annika Sorenstam, Tour legends Gary Player, and Lee Trevino. Moreover, they competed against other three teams with more legendary players, including Pat Bradley, Laura Davies, and Juli Inkster.

Notably, the Greats of Golf contestants have won a combined total of  78 major championship titles. They have also won 232 PGA TOUR victories, 155 LPGA TOUR victories, and 158 PGA TOUR Champions. Furthermore, the 13 contestants among the 16 have been inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. 

Jack Nicklaus celebrated his winning putt in a familiar fashion!

After he made the putt, Nicklaus celebrated it with a putter raise! The golfer had recreated his iconic pose from the 1986 Masters Tournament win.

Nicknamed the Golden Bear, Nicklaus has won 18 major championships on the PGA Tour. Notably, he still holds the record of winning the most number of major titles. Out of the 18 majors, he has won 6 in the Masters Tournament at the Augusta National. 

The 1986 Masters was his 6th and final victory at the Augusta National Golf Club. The golfer raised his MacGregor Response ZT 615 putter on the 17th hole of the event and made the iconic pose. Many have imitated the move from then on. However, the putter raised from the legend himself still feels special.
