Is the PNC Championship set to see changes? The special event which is set to tee off at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club is apparently going to change the tee timings for the golfers. And, the switch is being made owing to “an approaching storm” set to wreak havoc on the greens.
It had been predicted earlier that the tournament would witness some daunting weather conditions a little while back. However, it seems as if the forecast would turn out to be true as the play for the first round was shifted, surprising many in the community!
Daunting weather conditions shift play at the PNC Championship

The PNC Championship has proved how weather plays a crucial role in any event once again. The field of athletes at the same had been gearing up to tee it off at Tee No. 1 and Tee No. 10 from 8:00 AM till 10:20 AM on the first day of play. But now, the changed schedule would see each pair of golfers start off their rounds earlier than expected as a result of unexpected changes in weather.
What’s more, the tee times for the first round have been moved up to 7:30-8:22 am ET all while sending the groups off the “1st and 10th tees” on Saturday owing to the weather conditions. And, the “approaching storm” is forecasted to “dump 1 1/2-2 inches of rain” leading to a possible disruption of play.
Well, what about the final round? Even the last day is predicted to foresee hazardous conditions during gameplay. And, the golfers on Sunday can expect rain with a fluctuating temperature from 66°F to 70°F leading to the athletes encountering a wet state-of-affairs on the greens.

Well, the fans were anticipating Tiger Woods and his son to duke it out against Annika Sorenstam and her son Will McGee at 9:00 AM. However, it seems that the legend and his son would tee it up at 8:22 AM, much ahead of their expected timings.

However, it is not the first time that weather conditions have led to a change in the tournament that was being held. What’s more, the 2023 TOUR Championship witnessed its third round getting suspended due to the popping up of a dangerous storm cell north of the East Lake Golf Course. Nevertheless, the rest of the tournament did take place later on leading Viktor Hovland to be crowned as the champion.
