The Royal Liverpool Golf Course is all set to host the Open Championship, one of the oldest competition in the world. Ranked as one of the top 100 golf courses, this golf course in Wirral has witnessed several matches to date. 

As the latest match approaches, one former golfer appears to hit by a wave of nostalgia. The PGA Tour pro recalled his 40-year-old experience on the same course. And it seems like his fans too praised his brilliant performance in the tournament.

Richard Fehr, a former professional golfer from the United States, has competed in a number of tournaments over his career. As a result, he has a plethora of experiences to reminisce and talk about. Recently, he took to Twitter to share one of his favorite memories regarding the golf course where the Open Championship 2023 is scheduled to kick off later this month.

The 60-year-old golfer shared a glimpse of his competition with a caption that read: This was my ‘fit’ the only time I competed at @RLGCHoylake Thoughts? or ? Keep in mind it was 40 yrs ago #hoylake #TheOpen #WalkerCup

The said picture is from the 1983 Walker Cup, held at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club. Not only did he participate in the event, but he also won it, marking his first amateur win.

Soon after he posted his tweet, several fans showered him with immense love for his best memory ever. They also praised his attire.

From the comments, it seems like the two times PGA Tour winner had a great professional career that is still cherished by his fans.

A Look Back at Richard Fehr’s Golf Career

Fehr started his golf career when he was a teenager and won many junior-level tournaments. He turned professional in 1984 and after 2 years, in 1986, he won his first PGA Tour tournament: The B.C. Open. He had another PGA Tour victory in 1994 at the Walt Disney World Golf Classic. 

Apart from this, he has been a runner-up nine times in PGA Tour events, and has also made top-10 finishes 41 times. Presently, he works as a full-time golf coach where he offers his expertise to aspiring golfers.
