On the contrary, if a golfer is playing well, and has made all the cuts with sheer consistency, they seem to be confident, but not overconfident. One such golfer who exuded similar confidence in himself is Viktor Hovland.
The Norwegian golfer recently sat down with the media at BMW Championship at Olympia Fields, and he had quite a lot to say about his highly consistent game throughout the season. Let us dive in to find out more about what Hovland had to say about himself.

The scoreboard at the $20 million event after three rounds, looks pretty interesting with Matt Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler tied for the 1st position, and Hovland tied with Rory McIlroy for the fifth position. After his stellar third round of 5 under, the 4X PGAT winner spoke with the media wherein he was asked about his consistent game and what he attributes to having made every cut this year.
The 25-year-old golfer said that it has been cool to be in good form this year and making every cut. He reminisced about his win this year and his play in majors where he was in contention. Complimenting his game, he said, “I think that’s also another thing that’s been very cool to see this year, that the consistency has been very high.”
Talking about how he would up his game, and how his consistency has shaped his condidence, the golfer spoke, “Now with my improvement around the green, even on my bad ball-striking days, I can kind of scrap it together.” He said that on bad days he would just try to shoot an even par make well of the situation the next day.
Not becoming overconfident in his game, the Norwegian star said that he feels like he is never out of the tournament because he cleans up on the things that haven’t been so good in the past, “But still plenty of room for improvement.”
With the improvement in his game and exuberating confidence, Hovland reaped the fruits of his labor and made his way to the most epic upcoming showdown in Rome.
