Golf fans have eagerly been waiting for any positive news regarding Scottie Scheffler. After his RBC Heritage win, he took a small break to be with his pregnant wife. He missed the Zurich Classic, the CJ Cup, and the ongoing Wells Fargo Championship. And while he planned on playing at Valhalla from May 16–19, he was ready to withdraw if his wife went into labor at that time. But it seems there is some good news here.

NUCLR GOLF mentioned on X that the American pro is set to attend the interview on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. ahead of the season’s second major. What followed was another piece of interesting news posted by Flushing It on X that left Scheffler fans elated. Per the reports, Meredith has given birth, and the golfer has officially become a father. The news, however, has not been officially confirmed by the golfer, his family, or the team.

The reports were initially made public by Bob Harig of Sports Illustrated. The world #1 is aiming for two wins in a row in the opening two majors of the season, a feat that will further cement his status as one of the best. He started his winning streak at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he emerged victorious thanks to his 15-under 273. He then successfully defended his title at THE PLAYERS, followed by a T2 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open and two more victories at the Masters Tournament and the RBC Heritage.

A week ago, at the CJ Cup, Scott and Dianne Scheffler confirmed that they had not welcomed their grandchild yet. Taking a look back at the 2024 Masters, Scheffler expressed his intention to leave the tournament if and when his wife went into labor. “I’ll be out of here,” stated the golfer when asked about what he would do if the baby arrived during his stint at Augusta. That’s how eager and excited he was to drop everything and be with his wife during his child’s delivery, which was initially expected to happen in April.

Scheffler revealed, “We also have a tourist on the inside. We have a little surprise coming out in April. It’s also Meredith’s birthday. She’s a Taurus, so that’s just, you know, a little more about it.” It is now mid-May!

If reports about Meredith having given birth are true, then fans could expect him to continue playing. But let’s not forget that the golfer vowed to take a short break after his baby arrives. While the PGA Tour doesn’t offer benefits like paternity leave, Scheffler will try to spend more time with his wife and baby. Regardless, the news about his baby arriving garnered a lot of attention, and to say that fans were elated is an understatement.

Golf fans go gaga over Scottie Scheffler’s good news!

Some followers came forward to disclose the details of the golfer’s child’s birth, commenting, “I’ve heard from an inside source (a Dallas nurse) that the baby was born last week”, “There’s a very good chance baby was born this past week,” and “And it’s a baby boy.” Scheffler was born in Montvale, New Jersey. His family moved to Dallas, Texas, when he was 6 years old. Could the fan claiming to give insider information be telling the truth? Only time will tell!

One fan commented, “Ahhhhhhh I hear ya!! Well, at least he might be sleep-deprived a little next week now.” If the news is true, the new dad will surely have long nights taking care of his baby. Scheffler surviving on less sleep might just give other golfers an extra edge. But who knows, maybe Scheffler will just come to the greens with the new-found energy of being a father! After all, he is a family guy, and “golf is something he just” does.

Scottie Scheffler’s absence in various tournaments has proven to be nothing short of a disappointment for many in the community. Especially so when he boasts immense stats on the greens, with a scoring average of 67.46, a birdie average of 5.38, Strokes Gained (SG): Total at 2.851, SG: Tee-to-Green at 2.835, SG: Approach the Green at 1.398, 30 rounds in the 60s, and a G-I-R% of 74.76%, among others, all of which he dominates.

That’s not all, he even boasts a total of nine top-10 finishes on the greens in 2024, with four victories. No wonder a fan was visibly happy about the fact that he would be joining the upcoming major, the PGA Championship, as they responded, “Whatever happens at least we have a stronger field for a major rather than the fields they’ve been putting out on the USPGAT. It should making better viewing for golf fans worldwide.”

Meanwhile, one golf fan couldn’t deny the fact that Scheffler managed to keep a tightrope around the whole thing as it was happening. No news was made public about the golfer’s wife and delivery. “If Scottie was able to keep that under wraps then his team deserves a raise. Insane if that baby was born and not even the top golf reporters in the world knew about it.”
