As Homa gears up for the Fortinet Championship, he is also preparing for his Ryder Cup appearance. He just gave an interview on PGA Tour Radio and shared some big insights on what kind of mental preparations are going on behind the scenes for the international face-off!

When the host Jason Sobel asked Homa if the team had chosen any particular targets for themselves in the opponents, Homa replied, “I think that we are of the understanding that all of us would like to play all of them. We have a great team, and they have a great team. I look forward to whoever we get against, to mashup with.”

He also added that so many players on both teams had witnessed both great and not-so-great moments at the Ryder Cup that they wanted to improve upon them. “We haven’t won over there in forever”. The six-time PGA Tour winner boldly stated that the team wishes to change that and find “redemption” for the American side.

This year, the US team for the Ryder Cup is decorated with A-list golfers who are known for their strong skills on the green. As they inch closer to the prestigious event, their ultimate goal is to achieve a win, which will be America’s first win on European soil in 30 years. The last time the US won in Europe was in 1993 at the Belfry in Warwickshire, England, under the captaincy of golf legend Tom Watson.

Despite the competition, there is no bad blood between the Ryder Cup sides

Winning on the enemy’s turf has its own delicious flavor, and Homa and the other team members who haven’t tasted it wish to do so. He added, “We have a lot of guys on this team who haven’t had that experience. So I am sure that they would like their redemption. I imagine the European team would be the same.” But game aside, he also clarified that there is no ill will on his end towards the other team.

There is really no bad blood with anybody over there on my end,” he said, making it clear that even though the tournament would see intense competition, he was only going to dish it out on the course and not off it!
