The 2021 PGA Tour Integrity Program clearly lays out certain rules for its players. It also has a List of Violations, in which the prohibited behavior is mentioned. Betting or aiding betting is not allowed in any form in professional golf.
The violations include Betting on Professional Golf Events; Failing to Give Best Efforts (in exchange for money); Contriving an Outcome; Facilitating Unauthorized Access; Other Betting-Related Activities; Betting Advice; and Providing Inside Information.
Any player or member of the PGA who is aware of such violations is supposed to report the same to the golfing body. Additionally, the PGA Tour also has separate email addresses and phone numbers for reporting any betting activity anonymously.
This code of conduct was established in order to mete out corruption in golf, if any. Members may face sanctions in the form of suspension or monetary fines if the rules against betting are violated.

The names of the golfers who were allegedly involved in the betting and were penalized are Vince India and Jake Staiano. The tour informed the same in a statement, saying that neither of the sportspersons bet on championships where they were participating.
Staiano was suspended for six months from September 18, 2023, to March 17, 2024. Meanwhile, India got a suspension for three months from September 11, 2023, to December 10, 2023.
The recent suspensions of the two professional golf players for wagering should serve as a cautionary tale for those inclined to indulge in such activities.
