An Byeong-hun has not been alone in his life. His wife and life partner, Jamie, also known as Choi Hee-Jae, was by his side through all the rough patches that he had faced and was there to celebrate the joyful moments as well.

The couple had their dreamy proposal in 2017 and tied the knot in 2018 at the Shilla Hotels and Resorts in Seoul. Ever since his beloved wife has not missed any chances to express her love and support for her husband. This is evident from all the small gestures that she has performed for him over the years, including ironing his shirts in his early days as a pro in hopes of him looking his best if he gets TV time.

Talking about her husband, Jamie Hee-Jae An once said, “He’s the nicest guy ever, and he’s funny. He has a little bit of a cynical sense of humor, but outside of golf, he’s very funny. He’s like a little bit childish, just like all of the other men.”

The couple has given birth to two children together. Their elder boy is named An Sun-woo, while their younger daughter is named An Ji-woo. The famous professional golfer is a family man at heart. According to the golfer, his family life helps him take his mind away from golf and has helped him become a better person and player through their support.

Talking about his family, he once said, “Family life’s been great. It takes your mind away from golf. After tournaments, you go back and you have kids around; you don’t have time to think about golf. Obviously, you want to work hard. It’s nice to have their support.”

The professional choices of his wife remain unknown. She studied in the USA before marrying the famous golfer. Jamie seems to be a private person, with just around 581 people following her on Instagram.

Apart from his happy life with his wife and two children, An also has the support of his parents. He is the only son of Jae Hyung Ahn and Zhinin Jiao, who were Olympians. But what was the international love story that led the famous pro’s parents to marry?

How did the golfer’s parents meet?

An Byeong-hun’s parents, Jae Hyung Ahn and Zhimin Jiao are both former Olympic athletes. The couple represented South Korea and China, respectively, in the table tennis category back in 1988 at the Games in Seoul and even won medals for their respective countries.

While his father won a bronze medal in the men’s double category, his mother achieved a silver medal and a bronze medal for her country in the women’s doubles and single categories, respectively.

What is even more interesting is that the Olympics in Seoul are the reason why the couple got together. They originally met at the Asian Games two years before the Olympics. Even though they had known each other for two years before 1988, their relationship solidified during the Olympics, and they eventually tied the knot in 1988.

Even after being born to table tennis Olympic medal winners, An Byeong-hun chose the road of golf to achieve greater heights in his professional life.

According to him, he was inspired to play golf by his father, who was also a fan of the game and played a lot. He started playing the game at just the age of 7 or 8 years old and has not stopped since no matter what challenges life befalls him.

In his years filled with dedication to prove himself, the famous pro followed his parent’s path and represented South Korea at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the men’s golf category.
