Unlike athletes from other sports, golfers consider their water bottles as their prized possessions on the course. And Rickie Fowler is no different, as he has one similar prized possession that he is immensely proud of. The golfer’s accessory captured quite a lot of attention earlier this season during the US Open when the 34-year-old was seen carrying it all throughout the tournament with him.

Well, for those concerned, Fowler has now shared the story behind his iconic and captivating possession. 

Rickie Fowler’s cool, big water bottle has a story

Fowler is currently competing at East Lake Golf Club in the $75 million worth Tour Championship. The PGA Tour pro has made his way to the end of the season with sheer efforts and a display of stellar golf skills. It was a tough one for the golfer coming close to victory so many times, but not having one other than the Rocket Mortgage Classic win. But he persevered through! 

One addition to Fowler’s team that attracted a lot of attention this year has been his gigantic water bottle, which is filled with stickers from top to bottom. The PGA Tour recently posted a video on its Twitter (now X) page where they had the man himself explain the story behind his water bottle. 

The 6X PGA Tour winner said that he would not “make up anything crazy” for this bottle. He said that the reason he has such a big bottle with him is because his electrolytes are very potent, so he likes to mix 28-30 ounces of water. He said while explaining the reason for his “carriable bottle.” Fowler likes to carry his bottle in his hand because it reminds him to drink water every now and then. 

His water bottle is very special to him and captured the fans’ eyes during the US Open at Los Angeles Golf Club. Interestingly, this is the same bottle that played a starring role at the tournament back then and garnered quite a lot of attention.

What captured the fans’ eye even more was the cool stickers on the bottle. According to the golfer, every sticker represents something significant or a friend of a friend in some sense. 

The meaning behind Fowler’s eccentric stickers 

The PGA Tour pro’s bottle comes with several stickers, each representing a different element. Pointing to one sticker he said, “I have myself on there.” He added that he has two Sump Coffee stickers and a few Side Project stickers, a brewery. Both of these businesses are based in St. Louis and he likes them. He also has a Hyperice sticker on it as well, a brand he represents and is an investor in as well. 

His bottle also has stickers of Golf WRX photographer, at the side, and at the bottom. One sticker represents the photographer’s daughter, who is a top long-range shooter. He added the daughter’s sticker to his bottle because it seemed different and “was kind of fun.” The golfer just goes with the stickers that he feels like at the moment!
