Akshay Bhatia finished T35 at the Augusta Nationals with Brian Dilley as his bagman. The 22-year-old is now competing at Hilton Head and is striding. The golfer started with a nice swing, hit three birdies in round 1, and ended his third round by carding 69. On his bag this week, helping him is not his regular caddie, but someone new.

Akshay Bhatia’s new looper is John Limanti. The partnership between the two is said to be a permanent one. The super-experienced caddie worked with several other professional golfers before Bhatia, like Chris Stroud, Adam Scott, Aaron Baddeley, Chris Kirk, Keith Mitchell, and others. His rich caddy career proved to be a gem for all of them and has certainly played a crucial part in their success stories.

Limati hails from a Christian family and is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. The looper started playing golf at an early age, but his passion was fueled when he joined the University of North Florida and played for the UNF Golf Team. He started with his impressive career as a collegiate golfer and was also named the First Team All-Independent.

However, Limanti did not turn a pro right after college; rather, he started as a wind and yardage consultant. The looper got his first chance to become a caddie in 2009 when Chris Stroud approached him. Limanti grabbed the golden opportunity and carried Stroud’s bag for a long time. The 42-year-old earned his maiden victory at the 2013 Travelers Championship with Stroud.

However, this golfer-caddie partnership ended in late 2015, and Limanti moved on with a different golfer. But there is not just that about Limanti; man has got an interesting life out of the ropes as well!
