Although Tiger Woods is not playing at the 2023 PGA Championship this week, his name has been floating around a lot! This is mostly thanks to his viral “divot” video with Scottie Scheffler. Just days ago, a video of the pair at the equipment check season of TaylorMade’s golf equipment check having a brief conversation about taking divots made the rounds.
Even though Scheffler had an incredible bogey-free round at the major on Thursday, many questions about his conversation with the golf legend flowed in. And with his response to it, the former world No. 1 pulls in one other PGA Tour star’s name into the mix!

Woods and Scheffler were at the course, testing out the new TaylorMade clubs, in the recently released uncut video, when the world No. 2 noticed the golf pro not taking any divots. He quickly asked the 15-time major winner about it. While Scheffler seemed genuinely curious to know why, Wood’s nonchalant answer left him speechless!
“If I’m swinging well, I don’t take divots… When I’m flushing it, I don’t take divots,” the 82-time PGA Tour winner responded.

Now, at the PGA Championship’s post-first-round conference, a golf pro has opened up about the fans’ biggest question: whether the 47-year-old’s influence changed his own divot strategy. And the answer was simple: “No.” Sceffler also addressed his stunned look in the video, claiming that the fact that he had only just gotten up back then had added to the genuine confused look when he saw Woods taking no divots. And of course, he still didn’t know the legend’s reason.
“But, I don’t know, I think he was doing some sort of drill or something like that and maybe didn’t want to tell me because the cameras were on. Who knows? Maybe he really doesn’t take divots. Ask JT.”

Everyone in the golf world is aware of the cordial relationship that Justin Thomas and Tiger Woods share. The pair share a bond of friendship and brotherhood. In fact, in the past, Woods has even called Thomas his little brother. “We have become so close that I think Charlie’s like Justin’s little brother he never had, and Justin has become the little brother I never had,” said the golf legend.
The golf great gradually became Thomas’ unsaid mentor and close friend, and the two often have dinner together at each other’s homes. Their heartwarming relationship doesn’t just end there. The pair often pranks each other on the course. How can fans forget the two’s controversial tampon prank that Woods received such a lot of backlash for?
