The whole world was shaken in 2021 when Tiger Woods met with an unfortunate accident. The golf icon, through his achievements in the sport, has amassed a huge network of fans. While the news of his car crash rapidly spread throughout the country, all his fans and friends wished him well. Among them was the former POTUS, Barack Obama. He paid respect to the 15-time major winner by sending prayers his way and reminding the golf world about Woods’ resolve.
Obama and Woods have interacted together on multiple occasions. The two have spent quite some time on the golf course together also, playing competitively.

Barack Obama paid homage to Woods’ resolve
In February of 2021, Woods suffered multiple injuries due to a single-car crash just outside of Los Angeles. Millions sent prayers to him and his family in the hope that he would have a quick recovery. The former president also participated. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Sending my prayers to @TigerWoods and his family tonight—here’s to a speedy recovery for the GOAT of golf.”

The first black president in America added that Woods was an absolute force, and should never be underestimated. “If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s to never count Tiger out,” he wrote. This showed how well Obama knew the golf pro. He was aware of his tenacity both on and off the course. He had faith that the 82-time PGA Tour winner would be back.

It’s been almost two years since the accident, and Woods has played in multiple events since then. Although he is not back to his former self, the golf legend is certainly getting there. At the end of last year, he competed in the PNC Championship and ‘The Match.’ Despite not winning either, fans certainly caught glimpses of the golf legend’s game that they love.

How did Tiger Woods once describe Obama’s golf game?
The 15-time major winner has often spoken about the former President’s golf abilities. In 2016, the golf champion appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. There, he opened up about the golf games of the Presidents he’s played with. Describing Obama’s game in a single word, Woods stated that the former POTUS’ game was “straight.”

He explained that Obama hit the ball really straight, and despite it not being “longish,” it was precise. As per Woods, the former president was “extremely competitive” too, a trait they both share. Unsurprisingly, the two get along so well since both are competitive leaders.
