Golf has always been a very unpredictable and difficult sport. Unpredictable in terms of winning and difficult in terms of both mental stress and physical stress. You never really know who may end up winning the regular tour event or any of the major events, but it is just a matter of a few seconds or minutes before the entire game flips, and a totally unexpected yet remarkable golfer is holding the trophy. This may not be true for all of the events, but this certainly sits well for most of the regular LPGA Tour and PGA Tour events that have been witnessed this year.
2023 was a very different, exciting, and interesting year for the game of golf, and a lot of new leaves were turned over in terms of prize money, collaborations, mergers, and winners. If there is one entity that indeed reached the zenith and definitely turned a new leaf over, it is the LPGA Tour, as this year did not belong to the OGs of LPGA but to the young and energetic rising phenomenon of female golf.

Renowned LPGA stars such as Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, and Lexi Thompson have had an average 2023 season. These stars failed to clench a victory this season but definitely came close to victories. This season could perfectly be defined as a combination of ups and downs for the LPGA stars, as they indeed came close to winning but were so far away from holding the trophy.
But on the contrary, with stars faltering, the LPGA Tour witnessed young golfers such as Stanford star Rose Zhang, Allisen Corpuz, Ruoning Yin, Lilia Vu, Megan Khang, Celine Boutier, Minjee Lee, and many others rising to fame and claiming victories this season. When 20-year-old Zhang turned professional, she took the entire golf community by storm, and everyone was discussing her as she literally became the talk of the town.
The LPGA Tour also witnessed many young golfers claiming their career’s first LPGA Tour victory this season and also witnessed the uprising and unreal potential of many young stars. So, to say that the LPGA Tour turned over a new leaf this season with so much young talent rising to fame, the only answer is an affirmative one!
LPGAT’s big names could not really win this year. Lexi Thompson had a really bad year, and so did Nelly Korda. To say that their season has been unexpected, and not in a good way, is putting things lightly. In such situations, it has been good to witness the young prodigies emerge and step up to the game’s physical and mental level.
With this season almost coming to an end, a lot of speculation and concerns are arising about the senior Tour players, and especially Nelly Korda, and whether they will be able to reach the top again.

As the 2023 season is nearing its end, fans are concerned about Nelly Korda reaching a milestone that nobody wants her to attain. If Korda does not win in the upcoming Annika Tournament, this will be her first winless season on the LPGA Tour, barring the pandemic year. In all the years of her astonishing career, the LPGA Covergirl has always managed to win one or more trophies on the tour, but this year has been extra difficult for her, given her health issues.
Although she took some breaks in the season and worked on her swing, before she made the well-anticipated return, she still failed to clench a victory. With just one regular tournament remaining, fans and golf enthusiasts are waiting for Nelly Korda to win and not have a trophyless year.
