The season is finally over, and most golfers are officially off duty. Well, at least on the course. At home, life is a whole different ballgame, especially for LIV Golf’s Brooks Koepka, whose world now revolves around his son, Crew. Both Koepka and his wife, Jena Sims, are in full-on parenting mode, raising their one-year-old. And as any parent of a toddler knows, the real grind happens at home.

If you follow Jena on Instagram, you’ve probably seen her candid updates about Crew’s milestones—and the challenges that come with them. A couple of weeks ago, she shared that Crew’s primary molars are coming in, a notoriously painful process that’s been keeping both parents up at night. Sleep? Not exactly on the agenda. But it’s not just sleepless nights they have to deal with, as there’s also Crew’s growing curiosity.

In a recent Instagram story, she shared a hilarious reflection on something a pediatrician over a year ago said that left Koepka scratching his head. So what happened was, when Crew was six months old, they took him in for a routine checkup. During the visit, the pediatrician casually remarked, “Oh, he’s alllll boy.” And that’s where the confusion began. Koepka, apparently baffled, spent a solid month wondering what exactly the doctor meant.

Jena posted a photo showing Crew handing her a dead worm he had picked up from the sliding door threshold, captioning it: “At our 6 month check up (almost a year ago now… Dang) Crew’s pediatrician said ‘oh he’s alllll boy’ and Brooks couldn’t wrap his head around that… for a month straight he kept asking how she knew that and what I thought she meant by that. Tonight, Crew was picking dead worms out of the slider door threshold and handing them to me. I think that’s what she meant.”

Turns out, the pediatrician knew exactly what she was talking about. Crew’s curiosity and maybe a willingness to handle worms without a second thought is what earned him the “all boy” tag. As for Koepka, he was confused at first, but we’re betting by now, he gets it loud and clear.

Brooks Koepka’s son is growing up really fast

Back in mid-November, Jena Sims shared a bittersweet update on her Instagram story, captioning it, “Sad but big day.” Why? Because Crew is growing up—fast. She shared, “Upgraded from a ‘baby-sized diaper bag’ to a toddler-sized one,” adding three crying emojis (probably tears of joy, mixed with a little nostalgia) along with a heart emoji. It’s that universal parenting moment: loving every bit of the baby stage while also feeling a little emotional as those milestones fly by.

The junior Koepka was born on July 27, 2023, six weeks earlier than expected. He developed health complications and had to spend time in the NICU, a point in her life that left her heartbroken. She shared how difficult it was to leave her newborn in the hospital, admitting it was an experience she wouldn’t wish on any parent. Thankfully, with the dedicated care of doctors and nurses, Crew made it home in good health. Now, with every new update, it’s clear that the Koepkas are soaking in every moment of Crew’s fast-paced toddler adventures.
