Patrick Reed was among the bunch of PGA Tour mainstays who jumped ship in 2022. The former Masters champion received a hefty contract—the value of which wasn’t disclosed—that skyrocketed his net income. Actually, Reed has almost touched what he earned on the PGA Tour in a decade with only three seasons in LIV Golf.

Patrick Reed’s total PGA Tour career earnings rake up to north of $35M. That’s over a decade spent on the Ponte Vedra-based circuit. His highest payout came in 2016 when he pocketed $5,830,054. Reed won only once that season (The Barclays) but recorded 11 top tens, including two runner-ups.

Including the majors, the former Masters winner earned $38,590,103, of which $2M came from his 2018 Masters triumph. Despite leaving the PGA Tour three years ago, Reed still ranks in the top 35 in the PGA Tour career money list (34th). Actually, he is ahead of Gary Woodland, Collin Morikawa, and his LIV colleagues, Ian Poulter, Pat Perez, and Louis Oosthuizen.

But everything pales in comparison to the amount Patrick Reed has pulled in since joining LIV. The 34-year-old has already raked in over $30M from the PIF-funded side in the last three seasons. Of that, $16,150,847 came from his individual performances, whereas over $9M came from his team’s success.

Last year, Reed bagged three top tens in LIV Golf. A year before, the 34-year-old netted five top-five finishes across 14 tournaments. Reed’s team won the Team Championship in 2022 and tied for second in 2023. They also topped the season-long standings both times. The team’s success put another $14M in his bank account. Currently, Reed’s total earnings from LIV Golf stand at $30,344,597, per Spotrac. While the total earnings easily go up to over $65M, a Forbes estimate puts it at $52M in 2023.

That covers the two major sources of his income. In addition, Reed has also teed off on the DP World Tour frequently, which he continues to do even now. That has put quite a fortune on the LIV Golf Pro.

Did Patrick Reed make the right move jumping to LIV Golf for a massive payday?

Have an interesting take?

Reed has actually played 106 tournaments in the Wentworth-based circuit. While it’s tempting to pin that reason to LIV Golf—since LIV players don’t receive OWGR points, DPWT and Asian Tour events are their only source for world ranking points—Reed’s case is different. Even before joining LIV, Patrick Reed used to travel to the other side of the Atlantic quite frequently. He has averaged around 7-8 DPWT events in a year.

Reed has three titles in the DP World Tour raking €10,725,976.91 (roughly $11M) in career earnings. Even now, Reed has traveled to the Middle East to tee off at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship turning down an invitation from President Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. Before that, Reed teed off at the Dubai Desert Classic (thanks in part to a rule that allows LIV Golfers) netting a T10.

In addition to that, Reed has inked multiple sponsorship deals, including one with Swiss watchmaker Hublot, finance company Equity Prime Mortgage, and shipping and logistics brand EasyPost. The financial details of the sponsorships are not publicly available. Regardless, it’s fair to say that Patrick Reed is one of the richest active golfers on the planet.
