He added the pros on the LIV side, which, according to him, were evident. LIV defectors get paid more money, and they play comparatively fewer tournaments. Stating pros, he said“obviously, it seems like more money, and they play seemingly less tournaments. Just less work.”

However, he also pointed out the pros of being on the PGA tour. Cantlay believes that the American tour has much more to offer comparatively. Players are allowed to play at the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. It allows golfers to be part of the legacy. He said, “I would say there is a lot of history involved in playing in the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cups are big pros.”

The PGA pro also mentioned the increased purse for the tour’s events. After more players joined LIV, PGA commissioner Jay Monahan came up with increased purses and added benefits for all the players. Cantlay appreciated that the PGA tour was evolving. In his appreciation, he said, “The PGA tour is seemingly willing to evolve and change for the better. All the best players getting together more often for more money.”

Does Cantlay factor in the source of the money behind LIV golf?

According to Cantlay, considering the source of money was important. He wants to be aware of the source of the money he earns. He said, “You at least want to be totally aware of where the money is coming from and what else it’s being used to do.” However, the source of the money should be one of many points on which to base the entire decision to join a tour.
