After retiring from professional golf in 2016, Paige Spiranac took a different route but maintained closeness to the sport. She frequently shares videos of herself teeing off and offers valuable advice to fans seeking to enhance their game. But now, it seems that she wants back onto the greens, and in a healthy way! Spiranac always shared the emotional side of things too, and this time too, she did the same!
On X, the 31-year-old shared a post captioning, “I played junior golf, college golf, and a year professionally. After that stretch, I mentally couldn’t handle playing golf and especially keeping score.” After disclosing the mental impact golf had on her, the diva revealed more, “But I’ve found that passion again! I’ve started tracking my scores and grinding on my game,” implying that she has rekindled the motivation required to pursue the game.

In 2022, through her podcast “Playing A Round with Paige Renee,” she discussed the challenges she faced with the sport. She opened up about her experience and revealed that she had “no desire to play”. The elements of the sport, like keeping score, took a toll on her mental health. She revealed, “And so once I decided to give up playing professional golf, I had no desire to play, no desire to practice; I didn’t even want to like do fun rounds with my friends. I didn’t want to; I had like PTSD from like keeping score.”
Spiranac, in an interview with Mamba Smith’s YouTube channel, also touched on the loneliness she felt back in 2016 before quitting. She speculated that things might have unfolded differently had she known how easily she could express her emotions. “And so I look back and I’m like, maybe I actually could have done this if I knew that I wasn’t alone with feeling this type of way when it comes to competing,” said Spiranac.
Despite the emotional struggles she encountered while pursuing golf, the golf diva has now resolved to make a comeback, and surely in a better and healthier way. Following the revelation by the 31-year-old, the post garnered attention from enthusiasts, prompting fans to shower her with love and support.

One fan extended their well wishes to the diva, stating, “Best of luck finding your professional groove again!” This remark probably suggests that she has another opportunity to pursue professional golf, especially considering her previous setback in 2016, when she narrowly missed qualifying for the LPGA Tour and, as a result, decided to quit being a professional.
Another fan expressed admiration for her, stating, “You are fabulous. Never value yourself based on a score. You are wonderful the way you are.” Spiranac has had a significant influence on the world of golf. Scores aren’t a limiting factor in the impact she has had over the years and how she has made the golf world a better one, especially for females who want to become golf influencers.
Despite encountering the mental hurdles she faced back in 2016, Spiranac rediscovered her motivation and passion for the game. A fan expressed their desire, saying, “Would love to see you back on the links playing competitively. The game is still in there.” This implies that the 31-year-old still has the opportunity to re-enter professional golf and resume her journey with the game. Spiranac is now older, wiser, and more experienced than she was in 2016. A minor setback would now probably not mess up her confidence.
