Paige Spiranac has been talking about the LIV vs PGA Tour controversy for a long time. The ex-professional golfer has been neutral about the matter in her recent podcasts. However, she is not happy with some rules of the PGA Tour tournaments and recently called them out using a weird Tom Brady analogy.

Paige Spiranac targets PGA Tour using Tom Brady’s name
Spiranac was talking about the Tour Championship in an episode of her podcast, ‘Playing A Round with Paige Renee’. During the conversation, she talked about how the Tour Championship uses a rule that she thinks should be changed. The ex-golfer has also talked about this rule and the need to remove it on Twitter.
She said, “Tour Championship, they have the handicapped scoring system, which I think is the absolute worst and they should change that”. The handicap scoring system is a way for golfers to compare their scores with others. It is used to determine the number of strokes needed to score over par on a course.
During the discussion, she compared the Tour Championship to the Super Bowl, which is an event where footballers compete to become NFL Champions. Spiranac said, “Can you imagine watching the Super Bowl and the Bucs, you know, have like three touchdowns on the other team?”. The ex-golfer was referring to the Tampa Bay Buccanneers of the National Football League, of which Tom Brady is a member. She also said that the PGA Tour was trying to make the FedEx Cup into the Super Bowl. “They want to blow it up. They want to make it bigger,” she said.

Tiger Woods recently flew in for a special meeting with the PGA Tour officials. Sources said that Woods also helped the tour to make a list of the top players on the tour. But according to Spiranac, calling in Woods for a meeting was not a good idea. She said that the tour must follow the same course of action that it had been working on earlier. PGA Tour’s urgent meetings and quick decisions only display its fear regarding the existence of the LIV Golf league.
Spiranac also said that the PGA Tour and LIV Golf must combine the tours and make things work together. Many LIV Golf players have also hinted at the same idea of merging the leagues. But the odds of a merger between LIV and PGA at such a time are very low.
