She wasn’t there with her husband when he won the 2023 PGA Championship, and it seems she won’t be around this time too. Jena Sims had been a top-seven finalist in the Sports Illustrated SwimSearch and went ahead to co-win the same during the same time her husband, Brooks Koepka lifted his last major trophy. Come 2024, a similar situation has occurred, just as fellow model Paige Spiranac predicted, leaving the LIV golfer without his wife at the upcoming tournament once again.

The 35-year-old held a Q&A session on her Instagram handle while she was traveling on a flight for two hours. While doing so, the actress was queried on whether she would be “coming back for PGA later in wk (week)” to which she surprisingly had other plans!

“I wish,” replied the model to the question put forth by the fan. Koepka’s wife then went ahead to mention how she would be busy the whole week due to her own commitments as part of being a model for the SI Swimsuit magazine; “It’s my major week as well, with the launch of @si_swimsuit issue that I’m a Rookie in!! I have events Thursday-Sunday for that.”

What’s the occasion? Well, the iconic magazine will be having its 60th-anniversary celebrations with the release of its 2024 edition. It would be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida where several models and celebrities would convene for a ‘Swimsuit Island ‘-themed SI Swimsuit Issue weekend and launch party. The celebrations would start at 11 A.M on May 18 and 19 out of which the first day would include a full-body workout, along with swimsuit swag, belly chain beading, and a recreation of model Kate Upton’s zero-gravity photoshoot. Meanwhile, the second day would involve activities for the body and mind.

Fellow SI Swimsuit model Paige Spiranac was thus, interestingly, spot-on with her predictions. While dishing out her favorite golfers to win the upcoming major, she also mentioned defending champion Brooks Koepka’s name. The diva also pointed out why he has one of the strongest odds of winning the tournament at “+1000” while disclosing just one reason to not pick him; “The only thing I can think of is that his wife Jena Sims Koepka will not be by his side this week because it is launch week for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and she’s a rookie in it this year.”

The picks by the 31-year-old truly do set the fans’ minds to think when she asks the question, “So will he be able to handle it without her by his side?” Well, Koepka has already given the answer to that back in 2023 when he won the said major for the third time in his career.

Koepka grabs major title amidst wife’s absence

The LIV Golf Pro was able to emerge victorious at the 2023 PGA Championship all thanks to his scintillating score of 9-under 271. But, his wife was not there to enjoy the win with him as she was split up between New York and Florida as part of the launch week festivities for the iconic magazine’s 2023 issue.

“I was actually pursuing a dream of mine,” divulged Sims while alluding to the SI SwimSearch. But, that didn’t mean her mind wasn’t with Koepka; “I was watching Brooks every single chance I got, but I’m so honored to be such a part of this community and this weekend was launch weekend.” The model also went ahead to highlight the importance of the same by providing an analogy with her husband’s win as she said, “Just saying that I’m here dressing up is pretty much exactly the same as telling Brooks that he only played the PGA just to drink beer out of it at the end, which he did, but it’s deeper than that.”

His fans would surely want him to replicate the win he managed to rake in last year in his wife’s absence. But, it may prove to be a difficult road to glory with the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy being in top form. Truly a tense weekend ahead!
