The ex-pro golfer has a huge social media following, but she has been trending for denying her own statement. But after the fan disclosed the truth, it shocked everyone in the golf world. Let’s find out the important words that Spiranac forgot and that led to her facing embarrassment.
Paige Spiranac has a weak memory
This all started when a fan of Spiranac tweeted her quote and tagged her on Twitter. But Spiranac denied she has ever said anything like that. She replied, “I don’t think I’ve ever said this lol.”
The quote was, “I respect and understand that golf is enveloped in tradition and that certain rules and regulations must be upheld.” After Spiranac denied the statement, her fan replied with the original source of her statement. She said it back in 2017 while talking about the new dress code.

That was indeed half the statement presented as the quote. She also added that she respects the idea behind the changes, but they can uphold some rules. Spiranac called herself an ambassador of golf and an active speaker of women’s rights and equality. But she feared these changes might withheld women’s growth in society.
The history of Spiranac’s statement
The statement was made by Spiranac in 2017 when she was criticizing the new and more strict LPGA dress code.

According to the new changes by LPGA, a new dress code policy was taken into account. The code completely banned leggings (acceptable only if worn under a short skirt or shorts), joggers, and a plunging neckline. The female golfers were asked to not wear such clothes.
She also mentioned that there have been no instances of any LPGA player being photographed to hamper the reputation of the tour. According to Spiranac, such rules were not absolutely necessary, as the new rules were mere formalities.
