The Korda clan is a sporting family. On Sunday, Nelly Korda was about to win the AIG Women’s Open but lost her lead as she double-bogeyed and bogeyed holes 14 and 17 and let the lead slip. But two days later, she and her sister Jessica Korda were rooting for her brother, tennis star Sebastian Korda, who is playing in the 2024 US Open in New York.
Nelly Korda posted an Instagram Story to let her followers see the moment Sebastian Korda won his match in Round 1 against Frenchman Corentin Moutet from her perspective—front row and courtside. The youngest Korda is currently ranked 16th in the world. In his match against Frenchman Corentin Moutet, he won 7-6, 6-1, 6-0.
Nelly Korda captioned the video, “first round dub.” Jessica Korda was at the match too but sitting much higher in the stands along with her son Greyson. She shared a picture of her son in her Instagram Story at the court and captioned it “Go uncle Seb”.

Nelly Korda played a great AIG Women’s Open. She was leading through hole 13 with a total score of 8 under par on a windy and rainy day at Old Course. However, it was the Kiwi Pro, Lydia Ko, who outshined the 26-year-old after carding a 3 under 69. Which helped Ko add another major to her name.
The near miss must have been quite disheartening for Nelly Korda, but the LPGA pro knows it’s part and parcel of the world of sports, given that her entire family comes from a sporting background. On one hand, both Korda sisters chose the greens, while their brother, Sebastian Korda, opted for the tennis court, following in their father’s footsteps. But why didn’t Seb choose golf, and what does the tennis star think of the game? Well, Nelly Korda has the answer to that.

Not long ago, Nelly Korda sat down with Claire Rogers for an interview on an episode of The Scoop. During the conversation, Korda revealed that she chose the clubs because she wanted to follow her older sister around and do whatever she did. But for Seb, it was always about the rackets, as the World No. 1 stated, “My brother was the odd man out he was the one bouncing balls on concrete and hitting hit them in the air.”
With golf being a family favorite, Sebastian Korda has come around to the gentlemen’s game. However, according to the LPGA Tour pro, he still finds it quite ‘boring.’ Even though golf doesn’t top the list for the Korda brother, he’s always there to support his sister whenever she tees off.
Earlier this year, Sebastian Korda spoke about how much he respects his sister Nelly Korda as a competitor. He also turns up to support her whenever he can just as Nelly Korda does. “She’s such an unbelievable competitor,” he said of his sister, the World No. 1 Woman Golfer. “She’ll do anything to win out there. She’ll put her teeth into everything. She’s a true warrior. Just watching her play right now, it’s really inspiring to watch.”
