The Texas Wedge is slang for a shot that has been a mainstay in golfing tournaments for decades at this point. For this technique, the player hits a putter off the green rather than a wedge. Golfers generally go for this shot when they have a flat and clear passage to their target. In fact, World No. 1 and 2023 Masters winner Jon Rahm had also hit this very shot at the Augusta National!

Where does the Texas Wedge get its name from? Well, it is because Texans and golfing greats Ben Hogan and Lee Trevino had popularized the shot back in the day. Many also believe that this exact shot is a major part of their success and legacy in the game.
