Lexi Thompson made her way to the PGA Tour following a strong performance in Texas, where she secured a top-5 finish and $75,085. While she had her sights set on potentially clinching her first LPGA title in four years at the Old American Golf Club, her weekend rounds of 71-70 ultimately left her trailing behind eventual winner Hyo Joo Kim by six strokes, settling for a solo fifth-place finish at the 2023 Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America.
Despite not being able to apply significant pressure on the leader, Thompson remains filled with confidence as she heads to the Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas. It’s worth noting that she’ll be the seventh woman in history to compete in a PGA Tour event!
