Since the creation of LIV Golf the traditional PGA Tour has been under much threat and tension. The rebel tour poached many quality and star players of the PGA Tour and lured them away with money and better perks. And despite their best efforts the American Tour and the authority members weren’t able to stop them.
A lot has changed since then. The issue of the merger seems to be a need of the hour but no proper actions are being taken to achieve that goal. Under such conditions, some players are worried that in 2024 big names might join LIV Golf.

The season for the PGA Tour this year is over. A few fall tournaments are remaining but soon they will end too. And the LIV Golf season too is coming to an end this weekend with the Miami event. It means that players on both Tours will have ample time till the end of the year to review their performances and think about the future.
Veteran player Brandel Chamblee fears that the PGA Tour will again lose some of its best players to LIV again. In a recent interview he was asked if more players could join the opposite team, he said, “It’s inevitable others will join, as I don’t think the money/temptation will go away, but there are very few stars that truly make a difference; such as Tiger and Rory and even Rahm.”
Chamblee gave this answer in response to Phil Mickelson’s recent bold statement in the media. He said, “The reality is, I’ve been fielding calls, as we all have, from players who are free agents to PGA Tour players who want to come over. The question is, you know, how many spots are available? There are a lot more players that want to come than there are spots.”
Brandel has criticized this statement of Mickelson on Twitter and wrote that what Mickelson means is, that he hopes other stars will. Although his fears for Rahm are high.

Jon Rahm is raising the tension for Chamblee
According to Chamblee, he is worried about the possibility of losing Rahm to the Saudi Tour but he also senses that Rahm’s deep knowledge of the history of the game and his obvious future place in it will hold the Spaniard’s steps from crossing the line.

As for Rahm himself, he has no interest in the opponent Tour and finds it amusing when he hears the rumors of him joining LIV. But the 2024 season is still far away and you can never say never.
