A lot is going on in the LIV Golf Invitational Series since its commencement this week. Along with the event, the LIV Golf press conferences and events are also in the news every day for one thing or the other.

The latest in the list of incidents is the one where journalist and author Alan Shipnuck was removed from an interview. It happened when he was trying to walk in an interview of Phil Mickelson after his round from today.

As expected, the incident was recorded on camera by someone and shared on social media. It took no time for the sensational video to go viral all over the internet and it has been receiving all kinds of reactions. The source of the video is said to be CNN on Twitter.

The viral video of the incident outside the LIV Golf Interview

Here’s a tweet showing the trending video of the incident:

Shipnuck himself tweeted his reaction to the incident and mentioned that he was “physically removed” by the security personnel. According to the journalist, the guys who put their hands on him refused to disclose the name of the person/people who ordered them to do so.

Why was Shipnuck removed from the LIV interview?

As per what it looks like, it could be a reaction to Shipnuck’s biography of Phil Mickelson, which included the golfer’s controversial comments. According to Mickelson’s earlier statements, he claimed that the publisher, Shipnuck, had no permission to make those comments public and print them in his biography.

The biography contained mean comments made by Phil about the PGA Tour where he called them “greedy”.

“And when I did ‘The Match’—there have been five of them—the tour forced me to pay them $1 million each time. For my own media rights. That type of greed is, to me, beyond obnoxious,” Mickelson had said.

Reactions to Mickelson’s comments

No other golfers appreciated Mickelson’s statements, including Tiger Woods, who criticized his comments.

“Phil has said some things that I think a lot of us who are committed to the Tour and committed to the legacy of the Tour have pushed back against,” Woods responded to Mickelson’s comments.

Six-time major winner Mickelson shortly apologized for everything he had said about the Tour. But it seems like no one wanted a repeat of the scenario by putting Phil Mickelson and his biographer Alan Shipnuck in front of each other.
